Birthday for hut

Wanganui High School's Lupton Hut on Mt Ruapehu, below Turoa Skifields, had its 25 birthday last week, with about 50 people celebrating at the hut. The group included a 13 month old baby and a 75 year old tramper as well as two of the builders of the hut, David Lupton - son of the teacher after whom the hut is named - and lan Moore. The hut cost $490 to build and sleeps 18 comfortably.
