Toughening up Waiouru tots
In a military camp, not a million miles from here, there resides a certain major who goes by the name of Smith (what an unusual alias). The other day one of Major "Smith's" young daughters came to see him, rubbing her arm and saying her head was sore. The Major Dad asked her what had happened and she explained that she had been bungy jumping. Slightly (only slightly?) alarmed at this he went to her bedroom to find his two-year-old preparing to hurl herself off the top bunk onto a pile of cushions on the floor, minus the customary bungy rope. Could this be the beginning of women joining the SAS? (It seems they train them tough enough in this household!)
