Cash for rural schools

Some Waimarino rural schools will be given extra money to find more staffafter government funds were allocated last week. The schools will receive a share of the $63,000 allocated to 15 schools in South Taranaki and the Waimarino. More information will be sought from some schools before the amount is set by the Ministry of Education Central West District and the grants will range from $1500 to $6000.

The money would be used for special advertising to attract teachers, for setting up

outposts for teacher training and for correspondence with English teachers.
