Lions help out Raetihi brigade
Ruapehu Lion lan Strachan hands over an emergency lighting plant generator, floodlights and leads to Raetihi fire chief Alex Weir recently. The plant has already proved invaluable at a house fire and a rnotor accident. The presentation was made at an honours night where Area Commanding Officer Kevin Peacock presented honours to: Alex Weir (Gold Bar); Alan Bowater (Gold Bar); Donna McGrath (3 yr certificate); Ken Summerhays (Silver Bar, 15 yrs); Neil McLean (Silver Bar 15 yrs); John Compton (Silver Bar 9yrs); Martin Webb (Silver Bar 7 yrs). Good deed Ohakune Automobile Association staffer KLm White reported some good news yesterday - four teenagers handed in a wallet with $400 in cash plus travel tickets which were lost by a Japanese Traveller. The good guys were: Elizabeth, Justine, Dion and Karson from the Ski Life Lodge in Ohakune
