Winning quiz night again for Plunket
Corned beef and cabbage was the winning flavour of the recent Quiz Night run by Ohakune Plunket. The winning team, Raetihi's 'Corned Beef and Cabbage', donated their first prize winnings of $50 back to Plunket; second placed team was 'Consonents', with Ohakune Primary's 'Dust Busters' finishing in third position. A total of 25 teams took part in what Ohakune Plunket chairman Cathy Horne described as a
"very successful night." Teams battled against the clock to complete 10 rounds of 10 questions. Compere Merrilyn George was on hand to read aloud the answers and some of the evening's "howlers", accompanied by howls and groans from the teams. Proceeds from the bar run by the Ohakune Volunteer Fire Brigade were donated to Ohakune Plunket. A total of the night's profits was not available at the time the Bulletin went to print.
