First follows two second prizes for Ruapehu debaters

Two seconds and now a first place in the Council 8 debate final have been consecutively clocked up by the Ruapehu International Training in Communications team of Jefferine O'Sullivan, Keitha Journeaux and Jean Windle. The trio took the affirmative in a debate in Palmerston North recently, on "time misspent is time well spent". Over the weekend the club hosted the 1990 Council 8 Impromtu and Humorous Speech Competitions at Ruapehu College, with competitors from Hawke's Bay, Manawatu, Wanganui, Taihape and Ruapehu.
