Helicopter sewage shift

Mangatepopo Hut has a new toilet system, which includes the complete removal of sewage by helicopter, designed to ensure ^ minimum impact on the Tongariro National Park environment. A toilet has been sited over a series of large plastic tanks, with the convenience moved to the next tank when each is filled. After all 500 litre tanks are filled they are taken by helicopter then truck to the Whakapapa Village sewage treatment plant.
