Police, Ministry of Transport, firebrigade and ambulance officers were called to an accident on State Highway 49A at the Mangateitei intersection near Rangataua at 11.10am on Friday. Snow lay about the scene of the accident but the road was clear but wet. The firebrigade worked with rescue equipment to free a back seat passenger, Nadia Scrimgeour of Ohakune, from one of the cars. She received cuts and a bruised hip while the driver, Bill Pakai and front seat passenger, Enid Pakai suffered cuts to the hands while Mr Pakai also suffered a back injury. All were taken to the Ohakune doctor who treated them then released them to go home. The driver of the other car, Richard Hamilton Low of Ohakune, was uninjured.
