Bursary for Ohakune student
Making ends meet will be easier for first year Massey University student Karl Brannigan, the recipient of a $350 bursary grant sponsored by Waimarino Free Masons. The cheque and accompanying certificate were presented to Karl, 18, by the First Principle of the Waimarino Royal Arch Chapter of
Free Masons, Mr Frank Stuckey, last week. A former pupil of Ruapehu College, Karl said he applied for the grant earlier in the year and promptly forgot all about it. He was obviously surprised and delighted then, to hear that his application had been successful. He is undertaking a science degree at Massey, with the aim of graduating with a degree in computer sciences. The grant recognises academic achievers and is available to all Waimarino scholars. Karl said the money will be used for study materials and other university expenses.
