DOC study on Park pamphlets

The Department of Conservation is currently assessing the public's requirements for information pamphlets, track sheets, booklets and other publications rclated to the use of Tongariro National Park and local forests and reserves. Trampers, hunters, fishcrmen and family groups on picnics or camping trips are just some of those who use Tongariro/Taupo's natural rcsources. There are many others. The Department hopes to find out how helpful DoC publications are to those using the region and to discover areas

where changes or improvements should be made. The information gathered should enable DoC to assess information needs and to establish priorities for future publications. During March Katrina Marwick, who is carrying out the research project, will be contacting as many park, forest and reserves users, commercial tourist operators, schools and service groups as possible. She is interestcd to hear from anyone who wishes to make comment, and can be contacted on Taupo 84573.
