HUT ON THE MOVE

. The relocation of the Whanganui National Park John Coull Hut, on the banks of the Wanganui River, will be carried out with the aid of a helicopter and jet boats later this month. The Department of Conservation agreed to move the hut after it was found to be on an old Maori burial site. About six DoC staff will work on the relocation, which is -expected to cost $50,000, The new site is on land once part of the John Coull Memorial Reserve.
