Talent at hotel

Entertainment galore streamed from the Ruapehu Hotel last weekend as talented vocalists and on-lookers flocked in to take part in the final of he Ruapehu Hotel talent quest. Richard Mathews of Wanganui was judged the winner taking home $700 in prize money. Second was Matt
Williams of National Park and third was Ohakune's own Lila Pakinga. The total prize money was $1000. The talent quest, sponsored by New Zealand Breweries, Wellington Cafe and Dowmans Four Square, was a huge success according to hotel manageress Iris Parr. The door takings totaling a solid $1200 were donated to Chills Off,
Intellectually Handicapped, Crippled Children, The Blind and ithe Cancer Society. The Hotel hopes to make the talent quest an annual event. depending on sponsorship. The Hotel will be continuing its entertainment throughout the Christmas and New year period and will be introducing "PuBo," the hotel's version of Lotto.
