Waimarino Health Services
I have received a smack on the hand, and rightly so, from our past Area Health Board member Dorothy Scarrow for conveying a wrong impression via my comment in last week's Bulletin o n Health Services in the Waimarino District. In attempting to correct the suggestion in the publication 'Towards 2000' that 'Waimarino residents have always looked north to Taumarunui for health services' I made the 'blue' of inferring that the majority of cases, including maternity, went direct to Wanganui. My comments were made in the context of those who require treatment or services unavailable at Waimarino. As we know our local hospital does a great job in providing the right care for the many patients admitted there. My most humble apologies Dorothy, Eve and members of the hospital staff, I- assure you it wasn't intentional.
