MORE CASH FOR INFO OFFICER IN TAUMARUNUI
The Taumarunui and District Promotion and Development Association has been granted an extra $3500 for wages for the Taumarunui information office manager, by the Ruapehu District Council. The Taumarunui Borough Council was paying the salary of the manager, which was $18,000 per annum. However the council heard that the TDPDA could not find anyone willing to take on the job on a salary of that level, so were asked to increase it. Councillors discussed the need to look at promotion for the whole district.
