SPEECH PRIZE FOR RAETIHI STUDENT

Raetihi school pupil Emma Cornwall took first prize in last week's primary schools speech contest, held at Raetihi School on Monday 6 November. Ten pupils from Raetihi, Ohakune and Orautoha Schools took part delivering prepared and impromptu .speeches. Emma spoke on her feelings about going to boarding school and, impromptu, on animals. Second place getter Jason Enright from Orautoha spoke about ships and bicycles. Third was Jennifer Frame from Raetihi who spoke on Kiwi Sport and on feelings when a pet dies. Ruapehu Lions organised the event and Rotarians Bill Peach, Hira Parata and Neil McLean judged. /'
