Civil defenders
Ruapehu District Councillors Turley, Roger, Gould, Snow, and Murphy are to serve on the Civil Defence sub-committee. Cr Turley, in accepting the nomination said he had been unhappy serving on committees for five years and that
he was "happy to continue to be unhappy." "Thanks to Murphy's law I've been dealing with emergencies all my life," said Cr Joe Murphy. District General Man,ager Cliff Houston will chair the committee.
