CONSULTATION PROCESS DISCUSSED FOR KARIOI PULP MILL

Karioi Pulp Mill management and union representatives met at the Ohakune Hotel last Thursday to discuss a consultation process for the mill executive and the workers. The aim is to avoid confrontation between unions and management on issues by allowing for more regular consultation. The meeting was an initial one and set about discussing procedures for meetings in the future. Managing Director Kitt Wilson said it was too early to say how the system would work and that he expected a start to be made by next February.
