COUNCIL RECORDS ASSURANCE

Waimarino District Councillor John Compton was assured at the last council meeting that steps were being taken to ensure the proper care of council records. District Manager John Murrihy said a person has been employed by the new council to look after the records and sort them into categories of historical and council-relevant natures. He said much of the records would remain in the Waimarino because it would be inconvenient for Waimarino based council officers such as building inspectors if records were stored in T aumarunui.
