J acinta Lucy Takarangi, 25, solo parent of Raetihi, pleaded not guilty to a charge of receiving a number of items from a person or persons unknown on 4 August. The items included six desk calculator adding machines, a video security camera, 43 personalised BNZ cheque books, 74 blank cheques and items from a First Aid Kit valued at $2000 being the property of the Bank of New Zealand. She was charged that these items were obtained by crime and were stolen. Defendant was remanded to appear in the Ohakune District Court on 21 December for a defended hearing. Counsel: Duncan Harvey.
