The Management of Berry's Book Shop in Ohakune have decided to control the saies of Instant Kiwi tickets to children. They have advertised in this Bulletin that they reserve the right to refuse to sell Instant Kiwi Tickets to primary
school aged children who do not have written permission or who are not accompanied by an adult. Proprietor Mr Peter Berry said they had made the decision following concerns that a large number of children were spending money on the $1 tickets. He said children were not spending a great deal on the tickets but that "their lunch money

He said he was also concerned about what the children would do with money they won. Mr Berry said he had consulted the Lotteries Commission on the matter and they had told him the game was designed for people 18 years and older. The Commission said it was not illegal for children to buy the tickets but there was nothing to stop Mr Berry from taking such action.
