Building inspector for southern Ruapehu

The southern Ruapehu wards will have their own, part time, building inspector. General Manager Cliff Houston told the Ruapehu District Transition Committee on Friday that "two and a half" building inspectors have been employed by the new council. He said it would not be economic to service the building inspectorate needs in the southern Ruapehu area from Taumarunui. He also said the total Taumarunui workload would be reviewed.
