RANGATAUA VS COUNCIL

This was not exactly a sporting event but Sunday 25 August, at the Rangataua Hall, ratepayers faced a team of councillors, supported by their team manager John Murrihy. Sewerage, water seepage and costs were keenly debated and the'score was even with smiles all round at the final whistle. The star player was perhaps the team manager, who pulled off a couple of marvelous side steps and eventually ended up to his front wheel drive in a Rangataua stormwater drain! Fortunately one or two councillors were able to lend a hand for a push in the right direction. (Those who live by the public works shall die by the public works?)
