TOP MARKS, RUAPEHU SKI FIELD OPERATORS

Ruapehu's two commercial ski fields are now a model to the tourist industry, according to Department of Conservation district conservator Paul Green. "In 15 years Whakapapa have gone from the very worst to the very best," Mr Green told the Bulletin this week. He said he has the same impression of Turoa this season. He said his staff had received no complaints this ski season about ski field staff and that his personal impression was that ski field visitors were treated better than the average restaurant diner. "Both companies have done bloody well to raise the staff standards," said Mr Green.
