New York trip for Raetihi runners

Waimarino runners Stuart Fowlie and Marty McGarth are off to New York City in October to run the international New York marathon. The course, described as undulating covering 42.2 kilometres of road racing begins at Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island, continues through Brooklyn and the Bronx finishing in Central Park. The run includes some 23 thou-

sand runners and requires a three stage start. Stuart and Marty have run seven marathons to date and feel this will be a oncer for them both and are looking forward to experiencing the atmosphere and the challenge of the Big Apple and its prestigious race. Both are returning for the Round the Mountain Race in November.
