CASH FOR WANGANUI RIVER INFORMATION

Information for tourists on the Wanganui River Road will be more accessible soon, following a tourism development grant of $30,000 being given to the Department of Conservation. The money was presented to DoC conservator Bill Carlin by MP Russell Marshall last Saturday. $20,000 will be used to update the information available at Pipiriki's Colonial House. $7000 will pay for installing park interpretive panels at the adjacent public shelter and $3,000 will help build a boardwalk at the historic Kawana Mill.
