KING COUNTRY TRAIN TRIP FOR SEPTEMBER
Steam Incorporated, the group of enthusiasts who ran the Queen's Birthday Weekend steam train excursion, are ruxming a similar event on 16 September. Called the King Country Rail Ranger, a Da diesel/electric locomotive restored by the group will haul restored vintage carriages 600 kilometres from Wanganui through to Taihape and Ohakune, up to the Raurimu Spiral, up to Taumarunui, across to Stratford and back down to Wanganui.
