RIVER HUT STAY CHEAPER
Wanganui River travellers will now pay $8 per night to stay in the John Coull Hut, up river from Pipiriki. The Department of Conservation confirmed this week that the hut has been downgraded to a category two hut so the price drops from $12 to $8. It was rated class one because it has gas cooking facilities, which is rare in North Island huts.
