SWISS TRAMPER FOUND

A 16 year-old Swiss tourist turned up at Mangaehuehu Hut on the Round the Mountain track last Tuesday night after parting company with two others on the Blythe track. Nicholas Fauchere, who has been a guest of a Waimarino family, was ahead of his companions when he took a wrong turn walking down the track and ended up at the hut. He was found at about 10.30pm at the hut by Waimarino Search and Rescue team searchers. All walked out to the Ohakune Mountain Road the following morning.
