IMPATIENT SKI VISITOR JEOPARDISES PATIENT
An impatient skifield visitor is to be charged with unlawfully interfering with a motor vehicle after he let an ambulance hand break off. The ambulance was stopped near the Turoa Skifields ski patrol centre to tend to a patient, when the man became impatient. - He decided his problem was more importantthan the injured skier the ambulance was called to attend to, and let the hand break off and attempted to move the vehicle out of his way. The man returned to his vehicle after he had no luck shifting the ambulance. Soon the ambulance officer helped his patient into the back of the ambulance and the machine began to roll away, without a driver at the wheel. The officer eventually managed to stop the vehicle. The offender told police he was in a hurry to get back to Auckland. Before the offender s left the carpark he received a $200 instant fin^ frqm a traffic officer for not displaying a current registration sicker on his car.
