Parents help for kids needed
Since moving into this area nine years ago I have noticed on a number of occasions
the lack of parent sup-
port to our own com-
munity.
It is a known fact that people who already lead busy and active lives, will always be the ones who are left to do all the organising and fundraising for someone else's children's organisation. These are also the same people who get little or no thanks for what-they have done. It has also been very noticeable that when a meeting is to be held, followed by a free light supper afterwards, you can guarantee a full house, but it will remain full while the food lasts, again the clean up is left to the same ones - the ones already with busy and active lives. I think it is time a holiday home was provided for all the overworked people of our community, where we can go with a good book and a lazy-boy chair and rest our weary and worn-out varicose veined legs and body. It will then give ( those people who are themselves too busy to attend their child's meetings, but are overactive gossiping about their next door neighbour, accusing and abusing the innocent, who in most cases know nothing, as they are the ones who are busy doing things for other people. I would now like to finish by saying in plain English, to the less energetic people - get off your bloody big backsides and start doing something for yourselves and your kids and don't expect others to carry out your responsibilities. Not a fair go Ohakune
