He said the future of the saleyards in Raetihi is no different to other businesses in the community. "Without local support for the facilities within and around Raetihi they will
close and it will take years to restructure," he said. Mr Trebilcock believes that it is to the farmers' advantage to use the yards to achieve realistic prices. Waimarino Livestock, the third stock agency in Raetihi, representative Brian Chambers was asked to comment on the issue but declined at this stage.
