Next season's pony plans

The Ohakune Pony Club recently held their AGM and the following were elected for the coming season: President, Peter Richards; Secretary Treasurer, Janet Duigan; Instructors, Evelyn Cooper, Rose Morris, Lorraine Taylor, Peggy Bishop; Committee members, Eileen Gotleib and Bill Scobie. The forthcoming season was discussed and besides normal rallies

and competition events, a tetrathlon will be arranged to encourage and foster membership as well as parental participation. The tetrathlon includes swimming, running, pistol shooting and finally a horse cross-country event. The first event of the season is an unmounted rally on Sunday 30 July 1989 at Evelyn Cooper's, commencing at 2pm. This will be a practice to prepare and

select our members for the forthcoming Waimarino Pony Club horse mastership quiz. From this competition a team will be selected from the Ohakune Branch and Raetihi Branch to participate in the King Country mastership quiz. At this quiz our teams will have their knowledge of Kaitieke, Ongarue and Taumarunui to identify the club of the year.
