RIVER TOURIST EVIDENCE GATHERED FOR APPEAL
New Zealand Tourist Promotion department representative Robyn Jebson visited Pipiriki based commercial Wanganui Rivei users last week to gather evidence to counter Electricorp's appeal against the minimum river flows decision. She wirf^appear as an expert witness in the court proceedings. £ She said she has been talking to operators from Taumarunui to Wanganui to gather information on river user trends and what they see as the effects of the reduced flows. Mrs Jebson said what has stood out is how important the natural water flows in some of the tributaries of the Wanganui are, such as the Whakapapa which has grade 3-4 rafting rapids.
