NATIONAL DEERSTALKERS' CONFERENCE PRAISED
Waimarino Deerstalkers were heaped with praise from the Deerstalkers' Association executive for their efforts in organising the recent national conference, held at Ruapehu College. The executive thanked the branch and the Waimarino people for their hospitality, with one member commenting that the conference was the best yet. Special mention was made of local member Graeme Brebner "who spent many hours organising everyone to their various tasks". Waimarino hunters featured in the awards for competition entries with two in the photographic section and one in the antler, horn and tusk section. Ray Berry was awarded the Trevor Chappell Trophy for his wild sheep's horns.
