Turoa Tumblers' Tauranga trip
Turoa Tumblers' senior gymnasts competed in the Bay of Plenty/Waikato Senior Gymnasts Championships in Tauranga on 8 & 9 July. Shaun McLean, competing in Grade 5, came 4th on parallel bars and 10th overall. Warwick Hays worked well on rings to be placed lst on that apparatus and 4th on the H/bar. His overall position was 7th. The boys combined with an Auckland club to win the bronze team medal. Carys Hubbard, competing at Junior Elite level, was 3rd on beam,
2nd on bar, 2nd on vault and was placed 2nd overall. She combined with two other Auckland gymnasts to win the bronze team medal. It proved to be a good competition for all three gymnasts.
