DEVELOPMENT TRUST IDEA STUDIED BY KCEPB
King Country Electric Power Board members are looking at a concept of "ownership" of the Board which would involve a "King Country Development Trust". The general manager says the Goverament's preference is for a company structure and that the need for the company to make a profit poses problems. A development trust could be the answer with company dividends put back into the region. Such changes are not yet possible, however, because the Power Board's Act does not allow the board to issue shares and become a comDanv.
