School partnership will work here
Thanks to the editor of the Bulletin to have an opportunity to address educational matters within the Waimarino. An obvious area of interest at the moment is the educational administrative changes of Tomorrows Schools. Under Tomorrows Schools we have the opportunity to create an educational environment suited to our region's needs and we will see futher opportunities develop for our students socially and academically. Although the local schools are only into their second month of Tomorrows Schools a spirit of co-operation and optimism is apparent. The partnership between the parents and the schools is really going to work in this area, as is the partnership between schools. Education under Tomorrows Schools will be different and initially for Principals and staff a higher workload will be required but with the support of the Board of Trustees the gains made in Waimarino education recently will continue. Congratulations to Tania Taylor, a 7th Form pupil in 1988 who is now studying in Hamilton, on her second place in the New Zealand Pony Club Championships and to Carys Hubbard on her selection in a New
Zealand Gymnastics team to compete in Australia. Thanks to the hosts of the Rockhampton Grammar rugby players from Queensland; they won a close game, but according to the visitors we won in the hospitality stakes. On behalf of the
College staff and students involved in the production of 'Joseph', thank you for the assistance and support from the Waimarino. It was pleasing to see the talent from the College and the community combining to put on the musical.
