Promotion group's fees up

Membership fees for the Ruapehu South Business Association, which aims to promote the tourism of the southern Ruapehu district, have gone up

from $100 per business per year to $250. Private individuals' fees remain at $10 per annum. The increase was agreed to at the group's recent annual

general meeting, with the main reason being the group's plans to employ a full-time promotions officer. Association secretary Don Hancock told the Bulletin some members wanted to increase the fee to $500 but that the motion was defeated. Mr Hancock said about 30 people at-

tended the meeting, many of whom where non-members. The committee elected for the next 12 months are: Chairman Sue Allomes, Deputy Chairman Phil Abel, Secretary Don Hancock, Paul Scarfe, Alan Crossman, Gavin Moore, Bob Grave, and Andy.Chapman.
