HUNTERS UP THE RIVER WITHOUT A BOAT

An aluminium dinghy equipped with outboard motor, belonging to two Nelson pig hunters was last seen on its way to Wanganui on Sunday morning. The boat managed to slip its moorings at a hut where the two men were staying overnight. Pipiriki Senior Conservation Officer Dennis McDonnell, said the pair were hunting in the lower Mangapurua Valley in the Whanganui National Park on the weekend. The men returned to Napier on Sunday, minus their hbat.
