CAR BURNT OUT ON DESERT ROAD

Misleading location information did not help in fighting a recent Desert Road car fire. The Taupo Fire Brigade were told a car was on fire and that it was located closer to Waiouru than Turangi. The Waiouru Brigade attended but the car was actually closer to Turangi. JDespite the brigade's efforts the car was reduced to a burnt out wreck.
