JIGSAW WEEK FOR COLLEGE FIFTH FORMERS

A "factory" has been set up in the vacant shop next to the BNZ in Ohakune this week where 20 Ruapehu College fifth formers are planning to make jigsaw puzzles. The factory project is part of the school's work experience programme which will see the kids practicing many of the aspects of a work place. Pupils acting as managing director and accountant have overall responsibility with a saies and marketing team responsible for promoting and selling the jigsaw puzzles, while a production team is engaged in making the puzzles to the highest possible standard. Members of the public who want to see for themselves how the project is running will be welcomed by the receptionist and given a "refreshing cup of coffee" by the canteen operators. The shop has been loaned to the pupils by its owner Mr Bill Peach. for the week's Droiect.
