Turoa aims to attract families
Youngsters skiing at Turoa this season will be able to do so at prices substancially lower than last year. Turoa's revised pricing structure now offers a child's day pass at $16.00, a rate cheaper than the 1986 price.
Intense interest is being shown in the new rates which are designed to benefit families, says Turoa. Turoa's Public Relations Manager, Wendy Sutton, says she's delighted with the response to the new rates. "There's been a positive response from skiers". Pre-season saies of our season passes are booming, with the early purchase discounts offering real savings", said Mrs Sutton. 'The new Turoa Club
Card is also proving a winner", said Mrs Sutton. 'The Turoa Card is a pre-purchased concession card, which allows the user to buy day passes at a 20% reduction. It only has to be used four times to recover the inital outlay, so the savings for regular skiers are very real." Mrs Sutton addeed that benefits for the family at Turoa this year don't stop at reduced prices. The new Ski Wee Centre on the mountain will provide
small children with a warm and friendly place to rest under the care of a centre supervisor. It will be a real asset for skiers with small children. The Turoa Information Centre can also arrange baby-sitting care down town in Ohakune. The Skifield keeps a comprehensive register of baby sitting services in town and can make arrangements as required. "Skiing is one of the few sports that can be enjoyed by the entire family in the winter, and Turoa's making a big effort this season to attract family skiers," says Mrs Sutton.
