Electric top guns take title
A team of top guns from the King Country Electric Power Board took this year's interbusiness shoot competition, organised by the Waimarino Smallbore Rifle Club. The winning team and their scores consisted of; Craig McGinniss (96.2), Bruce Thompson (90.1), Pat Goldfinch (73.1) and Doueal
Campbell (93.1). Craig McGinniss had the added distinction of being the highest scorer of the competition. The team's combined total was 352.5. Runners-up were the Waimarino Club with a combined total of 336.3 and the Young Sewer Rats third, with 329.4. Each team received a Golden Kiwi ticket, as a token of appreciation from the
club. The new season is well under way, with club members Ken Summerhays and Bob McGinniss representing Wanganui at the 'Teams of Ten' competition, held this year in Wanganui. All rifle clubs in the North Island were represented at the event, with competitors shooting shoulder to shoulder.
