WHANGANUI MAP STILL EIGHTEEN MONTHS AWAY

A visitors' map of the Whanganui National Park is still about 18 months away, though a draft has been produced. The map is designed as a guide for motorists and visitors to the park boundaries such as Pipiriki and Whakahoro and for use by Wanganui River canoeists. It won't have the detailed information of a topographical map. On one side of the map there will be an over view of the park from Wanganui up to Taumarunui, including Waitotara. On the other side a more detailed view of the area from Whakahoro to Pipiriki will be printed. The Matemateaonga walkway and the Mangapurua will be included in this section.
