Ruapehu College nominees
From page 2 tive member on the national executive of I.HC for two years, including executive member on the national Greytown branch of St John's. I have also managed my own company and been responsible for the training of marketing and product development representatives for the tractor firm I feel I have gained the personnel, organisational and management skills which would make me an effective team member on the Board of Trustees. I have the commitment to the College and would, if elected work towards making Ruapehu College one of the best rural schools in New Zealand. Gordon Mottram I am married with one son. My business experience: 18 years in advertising business: (managing director of my own company: Argus Holdings Ltd). Presently I am a broker for Countrywide bank. From 1969-74 vice president of Auckland Kiwanis Club, 1973-74 president Kiwanis Club of Avondale, 1974-75 President Kiwanis Club of Henderson, vice president American Club of Auckland. 1984-86 friend of the
school committee Mt Albert Grammar School, Auckland, 1988-89 chairman Waiouru Area Committee. My interests in sports: Game and trout fishing, some hunting (camera-gun only), tennis and skiing (little and badly). Now retired from active business with plenty of time available to help other parents to solve any issues affecting our children's education. Jefferine O'Sullivan I am married with two children. My husband Patrick works for Winstone Pulp as a storeman and I am a relief post person for NZ Post Ohakune. My reasons for standing as a nominee for the College Board are simple. They are: to ensuree that the College maintains its present position and moves on from there; to encourage the concept that any learning is worthwhile; to encourage the view that one's background is irrelevant when it comes to the pursuit of excellence in intellectual endeavour. That is, no matter what race or colour or creed, we will learn because we are individuals who" want to leam regardless.
I have had limited administration experience but I can assure the people of the Waimarino, that I am enthusiastic, hardworking and I will do my best. Dianne Sarnpson I am 40 years young and live at Karioi. I am a mother of four children and have four grandchildren. My last two children are presently attending Ruapehu College. I have always taken an active part in my children's school ing and served for a number of years in community work. Whenever I was elected to a post it was generally known that any new projects were always thoroughly researched before being - instituted and I have always given backup, and never stinted on time. Richard Voon I am married with two children. I have served 18 years in the Malaysian army. Retired with the rank of Major. Attended the Malaysian armed forces staff college and graduated with a diploma in 1982. Was admitted as a member of the British Institute of Management in 1986. While serving in the
Malaysian army held various logistic and personnel management profiles in the middle management level. Had reasonable exposure to
strategic and financial planning. Presently pursuing a management course with Massey University, extra-murally.
