Waiouru elections for school board underway
The election of members to the Waiouru School Board of Trustees is being held at present. All eligible voters should by now have received their voting papers, which must be returned to the Waiouru Primary School by April 19. Out of the 18 names on the list of nominees, parents are to vote for up to five people. Those on the list of nominees are; Ken
Baker, Robert Bulman, Errol Clarke, Murray Fitchett, Brian Francis, Susan French, Stuart Gray, Lorna Heemi, Ralph Hesketh, Stuart Kett, Mary Newson, Anne Overton, Meryl Petre, Himaui Rewharewha, Sandy Robinson, Mike Ruki, Michele Tinsley and Nina Waru. There is a good rep-
resentation of women on the list of nominees - eight in all, and of the 18 seeking nomination eight are present members of the School Council. Coming up soon will be a "Meet the Candidates" evening, where parents will be able to listen to the candidates tell voters about themselves.
