BIG CARROT PARK NEEDS MORE CARE&ATTENTION

Ohakune's Big Carrot park is in a sad state, according to councillor Bruce Thompson. At last week's meeting he asked if council staff were tending to the park and picking up rubbish, especially from the pond. Hcaring that the council staff do clear the park of rubbish he asked if the town's "pride and'joy" could be checked more regularly and more thoroughly. He also told the council that Ohakune electrician Mike Fetzer had volunteered his time to reinstate the lighting system at the Carrot, which has suffered at the hands of vandals recentlv.
