PLANNING SCHEME'S EFFECT ON TOURISM TO BE GAUGED BY NZTP

New Zealand Tourist and Publicity Department senior planner Kay Switzer is visiting the Waimarino April 19-21 to gauge public opinion on the amalgamation of Waimarino's three district schemes. Ruapehu South Business Association representative Sue Allomes said Kay's brief is to comment on the effect of the amalgamation of the schemes and to hear the opinions of tourism operators, developers and business people. Sue said NZTP plans to formulate a submission on the scheme amalgamation and its effect on tourism. Such topics as the planned scrapping of the Apres Ski Zone would be discussed. Those who would like to meet Kay Switzer can ring Sue Allomes on 58799 to arrange appointments.
