PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER DISCUSSION

Also planned by the RSBA is the employment of a public relations officer for the area. The establishment of a PR office with a full time PR officer is to be discussed at tonight's meeting at the Ohakune Club also. (see above story). The group has approached the council seeking financial assistance for hiring a PR officer, but as yet have had no decision. Mayor Workman has said he is all for supporting tourism promotion but apart from his comments little has been said by councillors. Through the next few meetings councillors will be discussing the 89/90 estimates, which is when they will need to budget for any financial assistance.
