The big trophy in the picture was won by these little ones, and others, in the recent Maori Cultural Competitions at Okahukura, near Taumarunui. The children are from Raetihi's Te Kohanga Reo o Ngati Uenuku, and they performed in the Kohanga Reo section of the national competitions, for the Te Timatanga Trophy. The event was part of the opening of the Manu Ariki Marae's sound shell, which was attended by the King of Tonga.
